Hull service

Complete renovation of steel and aluminium hulls.

About

We perform comprehensive hull service, from class inspections through sandblasting and painting to precision replacement of plating and internal structure.

The vessel hull operates under continuous load in an aggressive marine environment. The condition of the structure, not visible in daily operation, requires periodic inspection within the class cycle.

Class inspections are conducted in cooperation with PRS, DNV and Bureau Veritas surveyors. We document plate wear, locate areas requiring replacement and plan the scope with vessel docking time in mind.

Our scope also includes internal structure modernisations, side shell reinforcements and bow section modifications for new mooring or manoeuvring systems. All work is carried out under classification society supervision.

What we deliver

  • Class and dock hull inspections
  • Hydroblasting, cleaning and hydrodynamic painting
  • Precision plating replacement
  • Internal structure repairs
How we work

Project workflow

01

Inspection

We conduct hull inspection in dock or underwater, together with ultrasonic plate thickness measurements. Results are submitted to the classification society.

02

Scope planning

The work scope is agreed with the owner and the classification society representative. We identify elements requiring replacement, repair or continued service until the next docking.

03

Execution

We perform blasting, plate replacement, welding under class supervision and painting with a system matched to the vessel operating conditions.

04

Class handover

The classification society accepts the completed work and issues certificates. We prepare complete execution documentation in line with class requirements.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you perform class hull inspections?

Yes – we carry out class inspections according to DNV, PRS, ABS and Lloyd's Register requirements. We prepare full hull-condition documentation for classification and insurance purposes.

  • How do you clean and paint hulls?

We use hydroblasting (high-pressure water cleaning) instead of traditional sandblasting – it's faster, safer and less environmentally invasive. We paint with hydrodynamic systems from leading manufacturers (Jotun, Hempel, International).

  • Do you replace plating?

Yes – we perform precision plating replacement using plasma and gas cutting and welding compliant with classification procedures. Every replacement is documented and subject to acceptance.

  • Do you handle aluminium hulls?

Yes – we have welders certified for marine aluminium. We work with both steel and aluminium hulls, each with the required welding procedures.
