Electrical service

Low-voltage and low-current installations, automation, lighting.

About

We design, install and service marine electrical systems, from switchboard design through low-current system installation to full diagnostics and repair of control systems.

A modern vessel relies heavily on electrical installations and automation systems. Every onboard system depends on a properly installed and maintained electrical network, from the bridge to the engine room and accommodation spaces.

We design ship switchboards in line with classification requirements, with equipment sized to actual operational load. We carry out installations on new-build vessels and modernisations on existing units that no longer meet current standards.

We also handle long cable runs and replacement of main cabling. We use cable transits compliant with fire protection and water-tightness standards, which is critical for vessel safety and fire classification.

What we deliver

  • Design and installation of ship switchboards
  • Diagnostics and repair of control systems (IAS)
  • LED lighting modernisation
  • Low-current and signal installations
How we work

Project workflow

01

Installation audit

We conduct an inspection of the vessel, verifying the condition of switchboards, insulation quality and cable routing. The audit also covers points that do not require immediate intervention but are valuable for planning future inspections.

02

Engineering

We develop switchboard and routing diagrams and select the gear. Documentation is prepared in line with classification requirements and used during acceptance.

03

Installation

We pull cables, mount cabinets and connect loads. Work is executed in stages enabling gradual commissioning of systems without taking the vessel out of service.

04

Testing

We perform insulation resistance, continuity, earthing and protection measurements. The client receives a complete set of protocols signed by licensed electricians.

Typical scope

When clients engage us

Every project starts with a proper assessment of the actual need. Below we list the most common scenarios in which owners approach us with enquiries.

  • 01

Replacement of an old main switchboard with a modern unit

  • 02

LED lighting retrofit with a new control system

  • 03

Installation of an IAS alarm system with bridge visualisation

  • 04

Full wiring of a new-build vessel

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you design and install complete electrical systems for new vessels?

Yes – from switchboard schematic design through prefabrication of electrical cabinets to full installation of low-voltage and low-current systems. We also perform commissioning, measurements and preparation of acceptance documentation.

  • Do you service IAS (Integrated Alarm System) installations?

Yes – we diagnose and repair integrated systems from various manufacturers. We work with alarm and monitoring system suppliers and install extensions to existing installations.

  • Do you modernise lighting to LED?

Yes – LED lighting modernisation is one of our most frequently commissioned services. It reduces energy consumption by up to 70% and extends fixture lifetime.

  • Do you use Roxtec cable seals?

Yes – Roxtec is the standard for professional cable penetrations in ship cable routes. We apply it according to classification society requirements for watertightness, fire and explosion proofing.
